Hallelujah! A cool front just came through! It dropped the temperature a whole bunch! We even got a little mist for a few minutes! hmmm...well, we all asked for a tropical depression/storm for rain and we got one, but Texas sucked it dry in 2 hours, literally. Tropical Storm Don came ashore and and just fell apart. Weather forecasters had never seen that happen. They were mystified by the whole thing. That is just how dry it is here. We are getting desperate for rain. Crops are dry in the fields and the ground is cracked.

Once again death has come visiting among my friends. A woman I worked with passed away last Sunday from lung cancer. She was bright, witty, and full of life. She had 4 children and about a jillion grandchildren, and great grandchildren who loved her immensley. Her husband is inconsolable right now and we miss her very much already.
