OMG...Bobby Flay is going to have a Throwdown with Ree Drummond, The Pioneer Woman!! It will be televised at Wednesday night at 8pm Central on Food TV. I can't wait.
I've been reading her blog for a long time, gave her cookbook to all my girls for Christmas last year. I've laughed at her kids, her dogs, their cats, and their ranch hands, and her very handsome husband and his cute rear end. They have kids with clear eyes, happy faces, know how to work a ranch, the older daughter has learned to drive the pickup to help her dad. They have doughnuts for breakfast and home schooling and have cousins and friends over for fun. Her love of her younger brother who hangs out at the fire station and a sister who moved to Austin has been inspirational.
They get up at 4:00 AM to work the cattle. They are a strong and wonderful family and Bobby Flay should watch out. However, I did see a sliced tomato in a picture of a burrito she posted. Lord, girl! I guess that is the difference between Oklahoma and Texas. We know tomatoes in burritos are chopped.
I used to go there all the time. She is a good writer and photographer. But it became a chore for me to find the last comment so I could add mine. I have seen several thousand comments on one post. Amazing lady. I saw her on Good Morning America once.
ReplyDeleteTalking about washing and ironing. Thanks for your comment about how you did it in Texas. Patty was also glad when polyester came out and she put her ironing board away. She ended up getting a table top, miniature ironing board to "touch up" those things that need it.
I had forgotten about ironing blue jeans and trying to get that crease down the middle.
I must pop over there some time.
ReplyDeleteenjoyed the read.
Take care.
Yvonne,
Thanks, will pop over if only to check out the cute behind.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad to see you back online and doing better. I love the Pioneer Woman. I think she is an inspiration to us all. I wish I had known about this earlier. I would have watched it. I do chop my tomatoes for buritos but I guess to each his own! lol.
ReplyDeleteAbe, aka Santa, when you go to a blog like hers with thousands of posts...press control and end at the same time will get you to the bottom of the page.
ReplyDeleteI just started reading the Pioneer Woman. Btw, Hi again. :)
ReplyDeleteDarn I missed it. Maybe I can catch a rerun
