Yesterday I attended a meeting at the home of a family with a cold and one of the other board members brought his son who had just recovered from strep throat. Thank you one and all of my neighborhood association board members. Ya coulda said something. I'm still trying to decide whether to go buy some Zicam or not. I did get a flu shot and it has been long enough for it to be effective, so but there is no vaccine against colds or strep.
It used to drive me crazy at work when someone came to work sick as a dog and sat there all day spreading germs to the rest of us. Bob and I went to Huddle House one morning for breakfast and the woman right behind me coughed like she was dying the whole time we were there. I just knew I was going to catch what she had but luckily I did not. I had the shot, too, but you can still get sick. Some people can be so thoughtless. Hope you don't get sick. I guess you can tell this is one of my pet peeves!
ReplyDeleteWhat a Scrooge you are! IT is the season of giving and these nice folks are just trying to share --- their misery! Yuk!
ReplyDeleteOyyyyy.... yea. I really do wish people would be more careful about that! I was one of those moms that actually kept my kids HOME from school when they were sick too! I don't know what good it did me... they'd just go back and catch something else from all the ones who's parents don't keep them home for ANYthing!
ReplyDeleteWhat would I do without you girls to laugh with about this. My nose is stopped up, but probably from the Christmas stuff we have brought in from the garage and out of closets. I looked up the incubation time and if I'm sick in 2-5 days someone will get a glare...or maybe a Christmas card with a cough inside. *evil grin*
ReplyDeleteAmber, my husband has no immune system right now so we're avoiding people, because so many don't think about others when they're out hacking and coughing around. I can't imagine what I'd have done had I been at that board meeting with my husband.
ReplyDeleteDo you mind telling me where you got your cute header for your blog? I'm always looking for a source for cute headers.
Amber, I answered my own question when I scrolled further down the page.
ReplyDeleteScroll down my blog and see the new yarn shop I visited the other day. I'm knitting like crazy on socks now.
Hi Amber, I love your header too, Oh I do wish I could get rid of my wee pink ant, I have tried everything, even tried Blogger to see if they could get a way of getting rid of it and wasn't successful there either , suppose I'll just have to put up with it 'cos it refuses to disappear -serves me right for doing it and not being prepared for the cancellation of it!
ReplyDeleteHope you're keeping yer 'Germans' as Louis says, to yourself, at least you are getting your cold over before Christmas.... Cheers, keep yer chin up, Kate x.
Oh darn it all ! Amber I meant to tell you that Billy Elliot was English (North of England mind you so you were nearly correct )...The accent is a bit different and is a bit slower than the Scottish accent, you would probably think that we (Scots) were speaking a totally different language. We are sometimes asked to speak slower so that folk can understand... You would probably be totally .. ' dumbfoonert' if you were in the company of a crowd of us hehehehe.
ReplyDeleteLove Kate x.
You hit on one of my major pet peeves all yr round: those that spread their germs. Downright inconsiderate. It even happened to me when I gave birth to our first child. One of the nurses on duty for me knew she had the flu. Being a new mom is hard enough, but with the blasted flu she gave me! UGH!
