Yesterday was a much needed fun day for us. It has been so tense for my husband running back and forth to the hospital with his dad and after he was released running over to their house to make sure everything is going ok and they haven't taken a handful of pills or something. He needed a break for sure!
We went out for lunch at a farmer's market and had brisket sandwiches that were really good bbq. We really live the high life, don't we. That market is a nice one and maybe we can get out there again to buy some produce, since our tomatoes haven't really gotten with it this year. pfft
After our dining experience we went to the movie to see "The Proposal". It wasn't an academy award winner, but we thought it was SO funny, sweet and so needed. It was an upbeat afternoon. On the way home we stopped at Costco to pick up a few things and people were smiling at us so we must have looked very much relaxed or had toilet paper caught on our shoe. It was pizza and a diet coke for dinner and SYTYCD (So You Think You Can Dance) for the evening entertainment. The dancers are getting better it seems, and the judges are calming down some...at least Mia Michaels was a lot nicer last night. She must have been PMSy the first night. Sheesh
It was a very good day for both of us. Today I have an appointment with an ophthalmologist. It is time for new lenses and the rhuematologist suggested I get with a really good ophthalmologist because of the meds I'm taking. I'm thinking this afternoon will be nap time after my eyes are dilated. Yuk..
See you tomorrow....hope you have a fab day!

SYTYCD and a Bollywood Extravaganza all on one page
Taking a break from the dizzying world of knitting*, I would once again like to talk about my favorite show this summer...well, other than "The Closer" and "Saving Grace" and that would be "So You Think You Can Dance". Tonight is the first of the finals and my favorite dancer, Joshua will be dancing. He is from my home town and he is absolutely the best male dancer on the show and maybe the best dancer overall. He is very strong and seems to learn the most complex dance moves with little difficulty. I think he is awesome and so hope he wins this competition. He is 19 years old and when he talks you can see the teenage boy, but when he dances he is on a whole other level. He has had almost no professional training, and was street dancing here...somewhere. Lord knows where that could be around Fort Worth.
His page on the SYTYCD website is here. If you even remotely like dancing watch the show tonight. It comes on at 7 central on Fox. http://www.fox.com/dance/
In other dance/singing news**, Snoop Dog is in a movie called "Singh Is King", and apparently helped correograph it, too. It is a Bollywood, Indian, production filmed in Australia. I just love the song, and here is the You Tube of "Singh is Kinng". I'm hopeless...I've got to see this movie sometime....probably after it comes to dvd. It looks so fun and if the songs are all as good as this or even more Punjabi, I'll love it. I wanted to put the picture of the lead guy on this, but that just didn't work out. He looks a lot like the guy in "The Mummy"...the good guy.
My daughter says Snoop is into world domination. Have you noticed he is everywhere and in the news almost everyday. His tour bus was stopped here in Texas the other day. Snoop was asleep, but one or two of his guys were arrested. They posted bond and were later released. Snoop Dog was not arrested...he was asleep. Here is the complete story and even Snoop's real name. The Star Telegram is so in depth on this shocking story that rappers had 2 ounces of marijuana. Read all about it here.
On a more serious note, I've been thinking about writing something about forensics*** and shockingly how many men have been cleared of rape and murder charges recently by DNA after spending 25 or more years in prison . More later...the thoughts are trying to gel on how to write this. My mind is working overtime this morning.

*** disclaimer 3-I am not a CSI, but I do have a minor in biology

Granny would so like to get down
Wow! The past couple of days have been bizzy! Meetings and appointments galore, and next Monday is going to be one of those all day things. It is so good to have things to do and places to go, though. Went for the bone density test today and....well, I might say there is a possiblity it won't be too great. The tech didn't say anything, but by the time I left my back was not in a happy place.
Which brings me to the next thing I was thinking about tonight after watching "So You Think You Can Dance". Oh my gracious, if I was 40 years younger, and a lot more limber that hip hop crumping style would be all mine. I LOVE IT....can't do it, but there is just so much raw power in the dance. While the judges were deciding who had to leave there was a hip hop singer named Flo Rida that flat blew me away....even with this ole back I was trying to dance while putting up dishes. Such a waste this style didn't show up until now. I'm pretty sure there aren't any other ole white, anglo-saxon ladies who probably get off on that style, but I dig it....fo sure Flo Rida is the man. He has a new album called "Mail On Sunday and he sang "In The Ayer" tonight on SYTYCD. He rocked!
