Independence Day

Today is the 4th of July, or Independence Day for those of us in the United States. Our forefathers risked everything to win our freedom from Great Britain. John Adams worked tirelessly on behalf of the fledgling nation, along with George Washington and Thomas Jefferson.

The Declaration of Independence was actually signed on July 2, 1776 with only two signatures, and , two days later Congress approved the revised document. The rest of the signatures came later.

Much information came from this website.

  1. All of us should reflect on the price paid by past and present generations for the freedom this document represents.

  2. Happy 4th of July to you and your family. Aloha :)

  3. Happy 4th of July! Thanks for the history lesson!

  4. Isn't that odd!? This is the 2nd time I've heard this today. I wonder why we celebrate on the 4th then?
