The rains came and came again

We pretty much got caught up on rain yesterday! At our house we got 2.5" during a several rounds of heavy rain. There was even some small hail at our place and the Dallas Cowboys' practice facility came crashing down on them yesterday afternoon. They experienced some very strong winds that wrought havoc with the tent they were using. Twelve had minor injuries in the incident and one coach was seriously hurt. with a broken back. The tent was pretty much done for, though, and was in shreds.

We attended a party last night against all recommendations about congregating in crowds, due to the swine flu risk. We had a great time and got caught up with lots of our friends and made a few new ones while there. The underlying topic of conversation was the swine flu and how it was perceived that closing the schools wasn't probably the best choice. We figured all the kids were at the movies watching "Wolverine" or hanging out together at the mall rendering the isolation attempt useless. I hope the flu scare is over. Our schools will reopen May 11th. It has been a major headache for parents to try to get child care for the days school is closed. Some companies have allowed parents to take sick leave in order to care for their children.

Today while looking at some blogs I enjoy this one at the Central Station in Antwerp was posted over at Rocks In My Dryer and is such fun you can't watch without smiling.

This link was on there, too. I think if you don't visit any other blog, please visit this one. I had tears in my eyes almost immediately. It is most overwhelming. It is called "I've been ridiculed and lied to." It is really something special.

  2. Thank you! I needed to see that today. It brought back many wonderful memories of my childhood when I played Gretal in The Sound Of Music in our Community Theater. What makes it even more special is that I was feeling blue because it would have been my brothers 59th birthday today. He has been gone for 31 years and I really miss him.

  3. quilly-glad you got to see it and hear the words. Even my grumpy husband smiled while watching it.

Maribeth-Sorry you were blue about your brother, but glad this little you tube made it a little better. April 2nd was my mother's birthday and I get a little blue then, too.
